Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Grand Prix 2023: A Race to Remember

The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Grand Prix 2023 was held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the Singapore Street Circuit. The champion had a memorable race after starting 11th and briefly second on track behind Sainz, but only because almost all other cars stopped for fresh tires. Verstappen fought back through the field from 15th after his own pit stop.

With seven races left, Verstappen has 151 points over Perez despite his worst result since Nov. 2022.

Despite qualifying 18th for McLaren, Pierre Gasly was sixth, Oscar Piastri seventh, and Perez eighth. AlphaTauri’s rookie Liam Lawson scored his first points in ninth. It was his third career race in Formula One since replacing Daniel Ricciardo in mid-season, and his best result of the season. Haas’ Kevin Magnussen finished 10th.
