Ecuador

Ecuador is a country in northwestern South America. It borders Colombia to the north, Peru to the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It also includes the Galápagos archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, located approx. 1000 km west of the mainland. 21 amazing countries with a huge amount of endemic animals and fauna. The country’s capital is Quito.

The Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands, famous for the huge number of endemic animals are situated more than 960 km from the main continent. The Galápagos Islands are a chain of islands, or archipelago, in the eastern Pacific Ocean. They are part of the country of Ecuador, in South America. The Galápagos lie about 966 kilometers (600 miles) off of the Ecuadorian coast.
