Biggest and very beautiful islands in the Philippines
The Philippines consists of over 7,600 islands. Until recently there were only ca. 7100 identified islands, but the number of islands miraculously seems to be growing “all the time”. The National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) has discovered previously unknown islands that have increased the count to 7641, only ca. 2,000 of which are permanently inhabited. While many of these islands are not considered much more than an atoll, you may visit, but study the island first, a few of these islands are among some of the largest on Earth.

Bohol (10) 4832 km2
Bohol is an island province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region, consisting of the island itself and 75 minor surrounding islands. Its capital is Tagbilaran. With a land area of 4,821 km2 (1,861 sq mi) and a coastline 261 km (162 mi) long, Bohol is the tenth largest island of the Philippines. The province is a popular tourist destination with pristine beaches and resorts. The Chocolate Hills, numerous mounds of brown-colored limestone formations, is the most popular attraction. The formations can be seen by land (climbing the highest point). Panglao Island, located just southwest of Tagbilaran, is famous for its diving locations and is routinely listed as one of the top ten diving locations in the world. Numerous tourist resorts and dive centers dot the southern beaches.
Located within the province of the same name, the oval-shaped Bohol Island is a picturesque isle characterized by picturesque coral reefs, quaint stone churches, indigenous (and mischievous) tarsier monkeys, and thousands of brown-hued limestone formations known collectively as the Chocolate Hills.
The Island of Bohol has a picturesque landscape and rich culture which leaves visitors wishing they had more time on the island. Bohol is among the world’s most popular tourist destinations because of the diversity in its main attractions. The landscape, the culture, the people, the buildings, and the activities are just the tip of the iceberg.
