Watch a traditional Capoeira dance

Capoeira is a traditional Brazilian dance that dates back to the times of slavery. It began when, taken from their homes against their will and held in slavery, the prisoners began to invent self-defense fighting techniques. To cover the internal fighting of their prisoners, African slaves used their traditional music, singing and dancing. It has been developed over the years to become a martial art that combines elements of combat, acrobatics, music, dance and rituals in a very elegant and magnetic way. The movements resemble a fight, but it is incredibly beautiful and unique to Brazilian culture. Sometimes you can see demonstrations in the larger city squares and occasional impromptu performances on the beach.

Let yourself be humbled by the Cathedral of Brasilia

If you went on a tour of the cathedral in Europe, or in Central or South America, then you know that after a while they all look the same. However, this is not the case with the Cathedral of Brasilia. Completed in 1970, it is centuries younger than the other counterparts of the New World and definitely surprising to the eye. Modern in design and structure, this cathedral is a great stop for those who love legendary architecture, but can no longer fake astonishment in bell towers.
